Following industry feedback and a public comment period, Maryland has issued administrative interpretations and is moving forward with proposed changes to alcohol trade practice regulations, and this guidance explains the current status and what to expect next.

What Happens Next

The proposed regulations will:

  • Be formally published in the Maryland Register
  • Appear through the Division of State Documents

Additional Comment Period

Once published:

  • 30-day statutory comment period will open

During this time:

  • You may submit additional feedback before rules become final

Effective Date

  • Administrative interpretations effective: October 1, 2008
