Verify a License or Permit
Check if a business or individual is licensed in Maryland
Use this tool to verify whether a business or individual holds an active ATCC license or permit. Search by name, license number, or location to view license type and status.
What you can check
Check the current status of a license or permit. Status options include Issued, Pending Renewal, Expired-Pending, Suspended, or Closed.
Licenses with applications still under review are not shown in this database.
See the type and class of license or permit.
For example, manufacturer and wholesaler licenses have different classes that show what products can be made or sold.
The license type appears in the database and is also part of the license number (for example, “M5” indicates a Class 5 manufacturer license for a brewery).
Search by the name of the business or the individual license holder.
Licenses may be issued to up to three individuals for a business. Some permits are issued to businesses, while others are issued only to individuals
Each license or permit has a unique number.
The number includes a prefix that shows the license type, followed by a five-digit number.
Understanding License Status
The license is active and valid for the current license year.
During the renewal period, this status means the license has already been renewed for the next year.
The license is active and in good standing.
It is within the 90-day renewal period but has not been renewed yet.
The license has expired but has not been closed.
It is not in good standing.
The license is not in good standing and cannot be used.
The license is no longer active.
This may happen if the license was not renewed, was closed by ATCC, or was closed at the request of the license holder.
