Core Requirement
Maryland requires:
- Delivery vehicles to have:
- A Public Transportation Permit (PT)
- A Vehicle Identification (VID) card
Wholesalers must verify these before accepting deliveries.
What Changed
To improve efficiency:
- Temporary permits and VID letters can now be issued:
- Without visiting a field office
- Via fax or scanned application
This supports:
- Faster processing for delivery operations
Temporary Permits
The agency may issue:
- A 10-day VID letter
- A temporary Public Transportation Permit (PT)
Conditions:
- Application must be signed by an owner or officer
- Submitted through a participating wholesaler
