TT-65 – Change from quarterly to monthly reporting

Maryland now requires cigarette wholesalers to submit tobacco sales reports every month instead of quarterly. This change affects how often you report and what information must be included.
What you need to know
Reporting is now monthly instead of quarterly
Reports are due 21 days after each month ends
You must report cigarettes and RYO tobacco by brand family
The first monthly report was due February 21, 2010
Who This Applies To
Licensed Maryland cigarette wholesalers
What Changed
Reporting frequency changed from quarterly to monthly
Reports must now be submitted every month
The same form (COM/ATT-608-3) is still used
Previous Requirement
Reports were submitted quarterly
Due 21 days after the end of each quarter
Requirements / Process / Rules
Submit Form COM/ATT-608-3 every month
Deadline is 21 days after the end of each month
Report the following:
Number of cigarette packs stamped in Maryland
Sales of roll-your-own (RYO) tobacco
Brand family for all products
For RYO tobacco:
Report in equivalent sticks
0.09 ounces equals one stick
Do not include:
Other tobacco products like cigars or pipe tobacco
Submit a separate form for each manufacturer
Attach the report sent to Management Science Associates, Inc. (MSAI)
Keep this report for at least 2 months

Monthly submission of complete reports
Accurate reporting by brand family and manufacturer
Proper documentation and attachments
Effective Date
New requirement begins January 1, 2010
First monthly report due February 21, 2010
